Can optics be taken on/off with the same holster?

I’m saving up for my first CCW, a FN 509c and plan on getting it with the optic. While I do want a optic, I figured it might be more beneficial to just get the variant thats red dot ready but doesn’t come with the red dot, just so I can have it with me sooner. I figured I’d get a red dot down the road.If I get a holster for it without the red dot, will I need to get a different holster once I get an optic?
