The best way to become confident carrying chambered?

So I was really on the fence about carrying chambered. I realized that, for the reasons I carry, unchambered is not the way to go. As an AIWB carrier I really struggled having a loaded pistol pointing at my dick or femoral artery everytime I carry. Pistol goes off...i lose my dick, or, bleed out and die, in my opinion I die either way.I just didn't trust the pistol. I had confidence in myself to put it in the holster and secure it in my pants without shit getting caught in the trigger, just didn't trust the pistol itself. I'm VERY active, i have to bend each other way, reach, squat, you fucking name it. Stupidly, I'm thinking "what if I bend TOO much, or JUST the right way, jump TOO hard off that truck, work site, etc.So I chambered a snap cap instead, with a full live round magazine inserted. And did that for 2 weeks. I checked the pistol every night, hammer was always cocked back. Never failed...had a particularly grooling and labor intensive project I worked on those two weeks as well. After that I had confidence in myself AND the pistol. I don't know if this is an "old trick" or something, but it really helped me to get to this point and I hope someone else that's on the fence tries it too. You've already decided you need to rack the slide to get into action, so why not put in a snap cap? If you need it, you'll rack the snap cap out like you've planned to and the pistol is in action..and you'll also see, that unless you've got a VERY fucked up gun or you suck at carrying in general .... that hammer/striker hasn't budged when you unload at night. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/32qyHoU
