My dad is looking to get a firearm for home defense and I’ve had a few discussions with him about what he’s looking for. He’s interested in getting a handgun & possibly a CCW but doesn’t believe he’ll carry all the time or at all, because he can’t legally carry in his place of work. I mentioned the idea of a carbine, which he seemed against, cause he saw no other use for it. I’m looking for reasons someone should get one class of firearm over the other.
