LCP II vs .327 LCR

When the pandemic dies down I want to start working on my W&C permit (it’s a pain in the ass in my state), and have been debating between these two options. I prefer revolvers, but this is a tool and I want to make sure I go function over form. Size + weight is a big deal, as I want to go for program compliance and carry whenever I can. The LCP II and LCR both are recommended for pocket carry, which is a great option when I’m not suited up for work.LCP II - (1) Slightly smaller & lighter - (2) Capacity - 6+1 or 7+1 (although pocket carry may not work with the extended) gives you 1-2 more shots - (3) Cost - (4) Significantly faster reloadLCR - (1) Ammunition performance + shootability - .32 S&W long wadcutters appear adequate and should be very light (assuming they are on par with shooting .38 wadcutters out of a .357); .327 gold dots appear to perform very well, but may have a kick. - (2) Reliability - (3) Safety - Chance of a ND should go down, as you can’t accidentally leave a round in the chamber. The same for carrying, no chance that you forgot to chamber a round - (4) Footprint of a speed strip seems like it would be less than an extra mag for the LCP III’ve seen others mention revolvers being > if you were to become involved in some sort of close range situation, as the attacker can’t grab the slide and it won’t get caught in clothing. Maybe, but this seems improbable.I have also seen shooting a revolver from a pocket discussed/demonstrated online, but it seems unrealistic in real life. A pocket holster is going to cover the trigger, and I would not be able to aim the shot so it just seems more reckless than useful.TIE - (1) Ammunition cost/availability - (2) Reputation/customer service (Ruger >) - (3) Holster support - (4) Sights - (5) Jury perception - My state has a legal to possess, illegal to purchase or transfer, law for magazines > 10rounds. Yeah, this is something I consider. A 15 round “illegal” magazine may come into play if the judge denies a motion in limine, and that can really fuck you. I’ve had judges rule for and against my client in cases where a “standard” magazine was involved in some way. Better to be judged by 12 then carried by 6 sure, but if you only had to fire 1-2 shots those extra 14 may be what gets you convicted.Insights, suggestions, etc from the hive mind appreciated. Thanks everyone! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3b9IguD
