Random’s asking about your permit

(Texas) So I went to academy today to get ammo for regular prices because they have contract prices that don’t change, and naturally there’s a large line because only a certain number of people are allowed in the store at a time. As I get to the front and me and my gf talk a bit to the employee. Now I’m open carrying my apx but he cannot see it with the angle I’m standing. As we go inside I suppose he notices it and as we’re ending a conversational trail off convo ( you know the kind of convo you finish with retail workers as you walk away) his tone changes and he asks me in what seems to be a slightly accusatory tone while pointing to my firearm “ I assume you have a permit for that?” Now I’ve prepared for the random question from law enforcement and simply saying that respectfully it’s not their Bussiness and they can’t stop me just for that, but... I never ran through what I might say if a random joe asks me. So a little off put I just said “ uh... of coarse...” and he just kind nodded and looked away. My question is how would y’all normally handle it? Would y’all just ignore him? Should y’all say it’s none of his Bussiness in a respectful manner? Or would y’all be like me? I’m curious because had I thought about it I believe I probably would have answered the same way but a little more annoyed because of his tone and I only didn’t because it was unexpected. I normally don’t like to answer questions from Random’s about how many, what kind or where I keep my guns nor anything about my permit. Just curious what’s y’all take? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2zfDOx7
