Why do people get so excited about 10mm being overpowered for a carry round when .357 has very similar velocity and energy stats?

Doing some research about Glock 29's and seemingly in every thread a lot of people get uppity about it being "overpowered". Looking at pure numbers though, .357 (a round that I've never really seen criticized the same way) is very similar. Why does one get attacked and not the other?
