If heaven forbid any of us should need to use our firearms to protect ourselves, there’s a bit of insight into the emotional turmoil afterword in “The Dawn Wall”

So I just watched “The Dawn Wall” which is a climbing documentary on Netflix, and it gave some insight for what it’s like to end someone else’s life to preserve your own. The climber it is about (Tommy) was part of a small group that was captured by rebels in Kyrgyzstan. The group of four had been in captivity for 6 days with no food. They ended up having one captor watching all of them so Tommy threw the captor off a cliff. It destroyed him.Every person in that group had gone threw the same trauma except the guy who killed someone. He had all the support in the world and all the justification in the world. It was truly kill or be killed. But taking that action still destroyed him. He was a different person after that. It’s worth thinking about. If the worst should happen, don’t be too big for therapy. Seek help. The battle isn’t over when the lawyers and police reports are done. Taking a life is never easy. It will mess you up. Might be a good idea to start looking around your area for therapists. If you have carry insurance to cover your ass legally, it’s just as good an idea to plan for how to handle things emotionally. via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2L9bSil
