Hello all I'm back for more advice and possibly insults if things go well. my family and I will be taking a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in August. I will be bringing my firearm with me on said trip. More than likely we will be flying out of my home airport of Amarillo and flying into Denver. So there is my backstory. On to the questions.Fist is how should I carry with a backpack?. I normally carry my Shield AIWB but that's going to be an issue as my hiking pack has a waist strap that I like to fasten. I am thinking of getting a drop leg holster for this but I have honestly never open carried my weapon and it makes me a little nervous. Especially doing so for the first time in a new state. Do any of y'all have experience open carrying in Colorado or Rocky Mtn. park? I know it is prohibited in Denver but we will be in Estes Park or Grand Lakes aside from flying. That brings me to part two. Flying with my gun. I am under the impression that all I need to do is get a hard sided case with a good lock, unload the gun and put the gun and its loaded magazines in said case. Then lock the case and this can go in my checked suitcase like any other thing I would pack. I then go to the special check in desk for items as such as declare that I have a firearm. Have I missed anything?TL;LDR - I want to open carry in Rocky Mountain national park but am unfamiliar with open carry and don't know how Colorado or the park rangers feel about it. I also will be flying with my firearm and want to make sure I have the procedure correct (see above). via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2MA2B5b
