What real difference does 10 + shots make compared to holding 5? (realistic scenario)

I'm in the market for a snub revolver as an alternative to carry from my current ruger lc9 9mm.I would say 80 percent of this community holds a semi auto (glock, cz, or m&p shield) with extended clips on their hip. After researching some more on carry rounds it said that in most ccw sitations from the million that happen each year, only 2-3 shots have been used. Also if you are accurate enough there is no need for more ammo.Even in the event of a shooting with 2-3 armed men jumping for cover with an extra speed reloader, could it not still be effective?Last thing the choice of ammo for most revolvers fall for .38 special and. 357 magnum. Having a .357 hand cannon would do alot of damage but your giving up low capacity and high recoil in exchange. In that case would the .38 be more effective? Its ballistics are similar to 9mm. Thanks.Edit. Magazines not clips via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2rKlhSA
