CCW Permit: Bypass Background check or Skip the waiting period?

Question about CCW Permit's privileges. In Florida, my CCW permit lets me skip the state's 3 day waiting period for handgun purchases, but the FFL still makes the NICS check, which has to be cleared before I walk out with the handgun.
