I married in January of 2015....and changed my last name. At the 90 day mark which is the amount of time by law, they have to approve or deny, I received a letter asking to provide documentation to validate the difference in name from my application and the background check.I am male, and just assumed if the name was different they would look at public record for a marriage license...apparently that's not the case.I recommend if you have married / changed last name...provide that documentation when submitting your application. It will save you a lot of time waiting.My spouse got his in 11 days....I submitted my application 2 days before him. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/28Manmr
