Hello, I'm at a bit curious about what people's rational are on their choice of pistol to conceal carry.Defensive pistol use statistics that are commonly used and discussed roughly say that:1.The presence of a handgun usually stops the encounter with no shots needing to be fired.2.If shots are made, it is usually around 5 or less rounds fired and usually around or within 7 yards.(Please correct me if I'm wrong with these)The mall shooting this past year is a good example that events out of statistical norms can and do happen.(10 shots fired at a range of 40 yards)Which of the two scenarios influenced your choice of pistol that you carry, and why? Did you pick something that works well enough for the statistically likely event to happen, (smaller in size and ammo capacity for the ease of concealment like a J-frame or small .380) or did you pick something based on the worst case of what could happen (larger with more capacity but maybe not as comfortable to conceal like a G19 or CZ P-01)?I understand that there's more to choosing a CCW than just the question above, but I want to try and get an idea of why people carry what they do. Why did you choose a J-frame/small pistol over a duty sized pistol or vice versa? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/fURK6EQ
