city violence, how to approach it after I start to conceal carry

Question for the community. I am getting my concealed carry license in a few weeks, and a situation yesterday has me thinking.I live in the downtown of a major city on the west coast, the homeless situation is pretty rough. Often the police are overwhelmed and you know that no one is going to be there anytime soon. Yesterday, a small ~140lb woman was being attacked by an easily 300lb homeless woman (punched, shaken, etc) trying to mug her in front of a touristy food joint in downtown. I stepped in, tangled up the aggressor with a thai clinch, and deescalated the situation. Luckily (and as expected) this homeless person didn't know what to do when someone grabbed them like that, and everyone was ok. Looking back on it, I was very lucky. What do I do in these scenarios when I am EDC? I can't just pull out my gun, but grappling someone like this puts me in a situation where I could have my gun taken. I want to be able to step in and help people, but if I was EDC it seems like a huge risk. Also, please dont have some kind of hero complex. It just didn't seem right to let this girl get clobbered and thrown around, and no one else was moving to help. I have seen situations like this ALMOST happen here, but nothing as extreme as yesterday.Looking for wisdom, not legal advice. Thanks guys via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3fqFB3I
