Transporting firearms through NY, NJ, CT, and MA

I posted this over in r/askle but was advised to post it here as well.I live in the mid-atlantic region but spend a good bit of time in the state of Maine and New Hampshire. When traveling to the North Easy I have to go through the states mentioned above. The Firearms Owner Protection Act of 1986 allows for the interstate transport of firearms as long as the firearm is in a locked container in either the trunk or rear of the vehicle and is not readliy accessible to the owner. However, from what I've read states such as MA due not abide by the Firearms Owner Protection Act of 1986 and will arrest you for transporting a firearm through the state. Can anyone shed any light on this in regards to transporting through the states of NY, NJ, CT, and MA? If I store my G19, unloaded, in the factory case with a lock, inside my travel bag in the rear of my vehicle; is that legal? I'm not trying to start a Pro 2A or Anti 2A argument. I am just trying to understand the legalities a little better.EDIT: https://ift.tt/3h4gZhb via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3iyBuCL
