If you think about what self defense weapons can do, you will realize that the possibilities are quite varied. Furthermore, these weapons range from lethal devices that can kill, to those that will really only give you time to escape dangers or alert others who (one hopes and prays) will come to your help and defense. So you need to also decide whether you want a weapon you might kill someone with, or simply one that you will really just use for self defense.
