Proposed 35% tax on Ammunition in Connecticut

There is a proposal to levy a 35% excise tax on all ammunition sales in Connecticut. The funds will supposedly be used for additional “gun violence prevention and reduction efforts”. This is a nice way of saying that they will be using your money to further take away your rights.A public hearing has been scheduled at the Law Office Building on Capitol Ave in Hartford on Feb 27th at 1:00pm, for HB 5040.Please consider giving testimony, either in person, or submitting written testimony. We know that many of you work, but it’s only one day a year to help preserve your rights. Also, let your local gun shops know.Also, call, write, or email Ms Gilchrest, and your State Senator and Representative stating your opposition to this punitive tax.
