Curious why I see a lot of hate towards laser sights?

I just picked up a laser sight for my P365, and after handling it for a few days and taking it out to the range I'm completely sold on having it on my EDC. Some background from me, I've been shooting rifles my whole life and participate in PRS competitions occasionally, but I've only gotten into handguns in the past 3 years or so and am the first to admit I have a lot of room to improve, but honestly that's why I'm such a fan of the laser. It really helps for dryfire drills. I can sit at home and practice dry firing and make sure that laser isn't jumping across the wall.I also find it really useful to practice just drawing and pointing at a target without the laser on, and then turning it on afterwards to train myself to be able to point towards something reasonably close and be on target without sights. Can also do this from odd positions and angles and after a little bit of practice I feel like if I absolutely had to in a pinch, I could fire reasonably accurately from under 10 yards by instinct. Can keep both eyes open while shooting to increase FoV and see more things around the target. Also being able to look and see what the target is doing instead of having to focus on the front post seems advantageous?I've also noticed it can be useful while at the range to diagnose others (or my own) handling deficiencies. Watching that laser dip down on the target just before the gun goes off provides instant and clear feedback that the shooter is trying to anticipate the recoil and flinching. Too light a finger on the trigger and you start to see the laser drift a bit right before the gun goes off, etc.In a self-defense situation, being able to fire without raising the gun to the eyeline could potentially save my life. With the laser I could fire from my belly and still be quite accurate.I know some people feel like irons are faster for getting on target, but for me that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe it's all the FPS gaming I've done in my day, but the point + click feel was noticeably faster for me than lining up my irons and shifting eye focus to the front sight. Now look, I'm certainly not advocating for throwing out irons. Lasers can fail and at the end of the day I think it'd simply be irresponsible to not be able to operate the firearm with just the irons, but if for nothing else than helping with training and instinctual aiming I'm totally sold on the laser. Am I crazy here? If I just went off the stuff I read online I'd be totally convinced lasers are just for mall ninjas trying to be tacticool, but honestly I'm just a huge fan of mine.Edit: Should mention that I got the CrimsonTrace green laser which is very visible even in bright conditions. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2PeKyk4
