Just because you draw your gun doesn't mean you have to shoot. Just because you drew your gun legally doesn't mean that not shooting it is brandishing or intimidation

For fucks sake guys, I was just discussing this in a thread. If an attacker satisfies capability, opportunity, and intent, you have a right to draw your weapon. If an attacker gives you a reason to draw your weapon within the law, if the attacker stops you do not have to shoot. If an attacker gives you a reason to draw a gun and you do not shoot, it is not brandishing. If an attacker gives you a reason to draw a gun and you do not shoot, it is not intimidation. The fact that I'm seeing people saying shit like "you draw a gun explicitly to kill" is absurd. You draw a gun to bring deadly force to stop an attack. If the attack is stopped by drawing the gun and you didn't have to shoot that is the best case scenario. This is called drawing a firearm to de-escalate the situation and stop the attack. That is the primary goal of drawing a firearm. If that fails, you use the weapon to stop the attack by force. via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2YCJMzo
