So I made the decision to conceal carry a while back and did an online training course (all that's required where I am) and took my certificate to the courthouse to apply for my permit. I just got it in the mail yesterday so now that that's taken care of I'm starting to look at my conceal carry options again. The only firearm I had for a while was a Bersa .380 Thunder. Super reliable gun, but it was more for range fun than concealed carry. A few weeks ago I picked up a Glock 42 for a really sweet deal, and soon after bought an Alien Gear 4.0 to carry it in. I also have a cheapo AIWB holster from my local gun shop. Appendix carry is the most concealable for me, but I don't know that I trust my "soft" neoprene holster enough to appendix carry in it. The Alien Gear took a (shameless) hour or two of fiddling with all of the adjustments to find a setup that conceals easily at my 4:30-5 o' clock. I think I would rather carry that way simply due to the fact that I can't get used to not being able to bend over when appendix carrying (I have to conceal REALLY deep in my waistband otherwise). But again as I'm reevaluating all of my choices here I'm wondering if my Glock 42 is really what I want to carry going forward. I'm a smaller guy - 140lbs, 5'9, big butt (which does kind of make 4-5 o' clock difficult some times) - I guess my question is, what were some of the difficulties you encountered when you first started carrying, and how did you find a solution that worked for you? via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2K41ec8
