Looking for opinions on .40 CCW's. Pros cons suggestions. The whole nine

I'm a police officer and this is essentially going to be my off duty that I would carry IWB. My current duty weapon sig p229 DAK .40 is simply too big for me and prints like a bitch. I'm looking for a .40 CCW because my department only issues .40 rounds for us for training and hydro shock hollow point for duty. Basically if I go .40 ammo will be free (or a lot cheaper) than 9mm. I've been looking at sig p320sc .40 as well as glock 27 and such. Any other recommendations? Pros and cons? Reliability? Those of you who CCW .40 what are you thoughts?Also throw in which holsters you guys have. I currently have an alien gear 3.0 for my p229.
