Competitive shooting will get you killed in the streets.

The title is something I hear quite a bit, so let’s have a friendly discussion about competitive shooting and how it relates to CCW (and even law enforcement, if so desired).I’m going to assume most everyone in here carries regularly.Have you ever tried any sort of handgun competition? If so, what discipline? If it has a time component, is it weighted more toward time or accuracy?Those who have competed, did you stick with it? If so, did it affect your shooting/carrying?To those who have not tried competition, are there certain reasons for not doing so?
