TL;DR Musician seeking best route for basic self defence when dealing with strangers
As an amateur musician I'm out gigging late fairly often. I carry a lot of expensive equipment, and between travelling to/from the venue (especially after midnight) and being in pubs with drunk strangers the odds aren't exactly in my favour lol.
Recently had an incident with a dude getting touchy and aggressive in the audience and confronting him very nearly got violent, and it's shaken me up a little (in a good, self-aware way).
I'm a fairly fit dude in my 20s, but I'm not a big guy and I don't work out or play any sports. Looking to avoid any classes where the emphasis is on combat, but rather quick self-defence and de-escalation techniques. I'm in the UK so guns / weapons are out of the question.
Thanks!
