Using a knife is obviously out of the question because if the attacker is unarmed you will be the one who goes to jail.
Baseball bats need to be swung really hard but the chances of damage are either too high or too low. So you either break someone's skull and go to jail or don't do any damage and get beaten with your own bat lol.
So what can someone use to defend but not get jailed for excessive force?
