Convincing my boss to let me carry

I'm currently working on getting my permit. I want to be carrying at all times, but I'm in the kitchen at work more often than not. The owner of the store let an old manager carry, and he's totally pro-gun. I've casually talked to him about the possibility of carrying in the store, and he's not entirely opposed to it. He was extremely comfortable with the old manager carrying because he had several qualifications that aren't going to be possible for me, like being a certified firearms safety instructor. I plan on taking as many classes as I can, but I wanted to ask y'all what you would suggest I bring to the table to convince him to feel comfortable with me carrying.
