Hi friends.
I am searching for a martial arts mix to practice for the purpose of getting physical fitness and gaining self defense skills. I am 34 and a l am a little overweight (about 22 pounds over). About 5'11" and 191 pounds.
Which combination of 2 (maybe even 3) martial arts would you recommend for my goals?
Considering the place where I live (Manaus, Amazonas - Brazil) the hours I have available and the financial availability, these are the options I have:
- Judo
- Gracie BJJ
- Luta Livre Esportiva (it is a brazilian martial art similar to nogi BJJ. It developed in parallel to BJJ, but has its roots in catch wrestling)
- Sanda
- Kyokushin Karate
- Ichigeki Kickboxing (a kickboxing style derived from kyokushin developed by Francisco Filho, a brazilian winner of the K1 World GP. Kind like kyokushin+boxing)
- Seido Juku Karate (World Seido Karate-derived from Kyokushin)
- Shotokan Karate
- Shorin Ryu Karate
- Muay Thai
- Boxing
- Arnis Kali (Daido Inocalla 'system)
- Capoeira
Thank you all.
