No, a gun does not help you get better customer service.

I wanted to share a story that happend to me. I was at work, so unarmed or the situation possibly would have played out differently. No, a gun will not get you better customer service.I used to work at a store that had a policy that stated we didn't allow open carry. We wouldn't say anything to the customer unless we had customer complaints. One day I was one of the managers on duty and I had received several complaints about a customer carrying a handgun tucked into his waistband without a holster. I walked up to him and start my spiel about how we don't allow open carry and if he could secure it in his vehicle. This numbskull goes, "what this?" and proceeds to pull it out and point it at me. I immediately put up my hands, start back pedaling trying to get as much distance between us as I can while screaming at him to put it down. I get on my radio and order that area of the store to clear out. He says it's not real and proceeds to throw it away from him while yelling about not getting customer service. I've now got enough distance between us that I can duck behind a product display and call 911. I gave them my address and told them armed customer with a gun, which immediately got the dispatchers attention, and they send everyone available to the store. The customer, after pulling the gun now decides to casually walk through the store twirling a large chain in his hand, I'm keeping my distance, making sure the area around him is clear, and I have his location at all times. At this point security knows what's going on and is tracking him on cameras and waiting for the police to arrive since their office is the first place they would go. By luck, the customer walked past the entrance the same time the officers came running in, as I already knew the officers, all I did was point to the guy. Thankfully he wisely complied with them or would have probably been flattened against the floor. Once he had cuffs on, and was safely in custody, the police were able to review the tapes and retrieve the handgun. Thankfully it was an empty BB gun. At the time he pulled it out, it looked pretty damn real and made my heart skip a beat. The police told us since it wasn't a real gun they couldn't charge him with anything, so we trespassed him and had the police escort him off the property. I'm extremely grateful it was a fake gun and he had no ill intentions, but still an uncomfortable situation to be in. Never try to be the hero, keep yourself safe and get as much info for the police as you can.  via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3hclOUU
