Say you were walking down the street and someone assaults you and all you have in your pocket is a phone charger cord. If you were able to get the charger cord around your attacker's neck and perform a ligature strangulation from behind while pulling with the cord wrapped around your fingers until the attacker was unconscious could it be possible/successful? Obviously you would expect resistance but I assume you could get the assailant down in 10-15 seconds with a good hold on the cord and kick in the back if possible.
