Quick tip today on increasing your draw speed I want to pass along to you.Not to long ago a younger cousin of mine asked me to teach him how to shoot a handgun. Prior to this he had really only shot less than 50rds through a pistol in his entire life. I told him to get his new glock and meet me at my range."How much ammo should I bring?"He was a little surprised when I told him "none."After working through basic safety drills we eventually got to the point where I had to teach him to draw from concealment.I demonstrated a quick and accurate draw to show him what it looks like. Now, im not world class or anything but Im pretty darn fast.I told him my secret.SLOW DOWN.I'm talking almost painfully slow. For our brain to truly ingrain a movement and learn it at a subconscious level, the movement must be performed with absolute consistency.Once your brain has assimilated all these highly consistent reference points, once you need to go fast you will be able to do so with incredible efficiency and speed. Here is what you need to do:1) Find a video that shows you how to perform a proper draw from concealment.2) Video yourself trying it. Then replay the video and catch any mistakes you are making. Practice only makes perfect if its perfect practice.3) 30 minutes of VERY SLOW practice draws with an unloaded gun every day for 14 days straight.Make sure that when you reholster you just perfrom the same exact draw stroke steps in reverse. Do it SLOW.After 14 days of painfully slow perfect practice, go try it live. You will be amazed. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/36ohxYW
