What’s a good small handgun for my older mother.

My mom wants a gun but the issue is small 9mm kick too much for her. I was thinking about one of those small 380 beretta 92 style pistols. I’d prefer 9mm because her husband has a 9mm but I can’t think of what 9mm is small and doesn’t kick back like a mule. I had an ec9s in the past and she hated the recoil.
