where to put gun safe? (thinking of home invasion)

what would the best location for a gun safe be? i have a 2 story house. you can get upstairs into the laundry room from the backyard. it is fenced in with a lock. You can also get in from downstairs front door and 2 side doors. i spend most of my time downstairs. Bedroom is upstairs. i keep a pistol upstairs at night.
