While parking at the grocery store last night, I noticed a man who was walking into the store with his toddler-aged daughter in-tow.The man was open-carrying an M&P in a snakeskin-patterned kydex OWB holster which he had clipped to the elastic band of his sweatpants.The gun and holster were very visibly flopping around with every step the man took, routinely sweeping his daughter (who was holding his hand while walking) and his own feet/legs. I could not believe the gun and holster didn’t fall right off his pants as I was watching him.This might seem kind of soap-boxy and some of you might be thinking, “Fuck you, man - it’s a free country and I do what I want. It’s none of your business.” Ok.We have an enormous responsibility to ourselves and to others to carry safely and responsibly at all times.I was really disappointed to see it.So here’s my ask: If you or a buddy or your crazy uncle or anyone you could personally counsel on the topic carry in this manner, please don’t and please say something if you can. You’re putting yourself, your loved ones, and others at risk and you are promoting an image of recklessness and irresponsibility for others who carry.There’s always going to be the 10% or 5% or 1% who just don’t get it; and this is certainly an extreme example - but it’s entirely preventable and we all have an interest in keeping everyone safe.Thank you! via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2Pev1zA
