I just got hired to do private security for ATM repairs in a Top 10 Most Violent City. My welcome packet said the usual, 9mm/10mm/357/40/45 semi auto, OWB Level 2 holster, extra mag, shotgun or semi-automatic rifle in the trunk if desired. My training officer today encouraged me to carry a fixed blade knife alongside my handgun. He carries some Benchmade model that's supposed to be able to stab through kevlar. I didn't say anything, but I'm not sure it's such a smart idea. I am a veteran, and granted I was a POG, but anytime I have heard infantry guys talking about it, they said don't carry anything more than a Gerber because your knife is more likely to be used against you than you are to ever need it.What's the consensus here about carrying a fixed blade plus handgun? via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2IuX8ci
