FBI Active Shooter Training on College Campus

What do you guys think of this? My college is offering this training tomorrow and I haven't decided yet if I am going to adjust my schedule to go or not. Below is the description of the class sent out in an email to everyone at my college. I've removed the name of the presenter and my college for anonymity reasons. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend an active shooter presentation specifically addressing colleges and other education environments. The presentations will include information on what to do in an active shooter situation to increase the probability of survival and potential pre-event indicators of a person preparing to embark on a mass violence event. The topic will also instruct attendees in using “Active Listening Skills” to assist people with preventing an active shooter situation and not just surviving one.The presenter will be FBI Special Agent, a 19 year veteran of the Agency with an MA in Psychology from St. Mary’s University. He has previously been assigned to white-collar crime, Domestic Terrorism and Violent Crime with an emphasis on child prostitution. For the last two years SA has been the Training Coordinator of the FBI Minneapolis Office. During his FBI career, SA has been a Crisis Negotiator, the Employee Assistance Coordinator, a Relief Supervisor and the Crimes Against Children Coordinator. SA has given numerous active shooter presentations over the past two years in a wide variety of settings, including schools and colleges. The presentation is approximately 1.25 hrs. and additional time will be available for questions and discussion. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2l5dYAG
