45 GAP lineage.

Does anyone remember the 45 Hirtenberger cartridge? It was made by Hirtenberger, an Austrian company. Glock, another Austrian company came out with the 45 GAP (Glock Automatic Pistol) cartridge and the 45 Hirtenberger disappeared. As I remember, the Hirtenberger was a 45acp cartridge in dimensions except it was 1mm shorter. Same as the 45 GAP. Does anybody know if Glock simply bought out the rights to the 45 Hirtenberger cartridge and renamed it the 45 GAP? I asked Glock directly some years ago and while I cannot recall their answer, it was inconclusive. Can anyone help me? Thanks. via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2tkPBUH
