have any of you switched from a s&w shield plus to a sig p365? what was your reason and are you happy with the switch?

i have been carrying a shield for years and switched to the plus when it came out. i've always been content with them but i looked at a p365 today and it felt good aside from the mushy trigger. i've only ever carried a shield so i don't have much experience branching out to other carry pistols, and while i like my shield, i'm wondering if i might be happier with something else instead.this isn't related to performance, but something that kind of left a bad taste my mouth recently with smith and wesson was trying to get the slide stop fixed. it never locked open unless i engaged it with my thumb and it's been like this since i got it brand new when the plus came out, but aside from that it always shot great and never jammed or anything, and it still doesn't. i was coming up on the manufacturer warranty expiring so i sent it off for them to fix (didn't include the mags because they said not to, so they tested it with whatever mags they have at the repair place). i finally got it back a month and a half later and the paper said it was range tested and passed so they sent it back with nothing changed. still didn't work with the mags that came with the gun. i had to email them again and ask for some new springs and followers because i figured that was the problem. when i got those and installed them, the slide finally locked open when i manually racked the slide, but the next time i shot it at the range, it was back to the same old crap and it still doesn't work when i shoot it. like i said the gun still works fine in all the ways that matter, but this experience has made me more open to trying different brands, where i previously had a bit of brand loyalty to smith and wesson, for ccwthe reasons i have liked the shield plus is the flat trigger and the capacity, but the p365x and xl have the same capacity and a flat trigger, as well as being optics ready, whereas the only optics ready shields i've seen in real life were long slide/barrel performance center with ported barrel, and even then i've only seen maybe two or three of them locally since the plus came out. i've kept my eye out of them again and never saw another one at any local places. i've thought about getting mine sent off and cut but i'm glad i was too lazy to do it because it makes sense now that i'm looking at other options, to just buy one that's already optics ready. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/o9QV8L2
