Sold my brand new G43 to a buddy so I could get the Walther PPS M2. Glad I did.

I posted a couple days ago about my exhaustive search for a single stack 9mm conceal carry gun. I am a first time gun owner. So despite what I wrote, I shot the G43 a few times after I bought it and I really didn't like it. I didn't like the sights, it didn't seem particularly accurate, it was snappy in my hand and the trigger was just OK.Long story short, I sold that G43 to a friend for what I paid for it (maybe had 30 rounds through it) and he was ecstatic to get it because all the Glocks around here are sold out now.I took the cash over to Academy where I first looked at the Walther PPS M2 and decided to take a risk and buy it. I really feel like I made the right choice (for me). I just put 100 rounds through it and here are my impressions. The sights are way better than the G43. It's not nearly as snappy in the hand; doesn't bite you. It's dead-on-balls accurate. I set the target at 25ft, because I figure if I ever have to defend myself with the gun it will be about within that range, and the gun performed flawlessly. It likes to have the front dot right over the target and then you can't miss. If you put the blade just below the target it shoots a little low.The downside is it's a little heavier than the G43 but not a ton and the trigger is OK not great. It was kind of gritty when I first got it but according to the forums it just needs a break in period. After the 100 I put through it today it's much nicer (thought still not great). It has a very short take up. The wall is sorta defined but could be better. The break is reasonably short, also could be better. Same with the reset, it's a little long.It also feels nice in my hand. I feels like a quality product moreso than the G43/Sig/Shield. The slide comes off easily and smoothly. The grip feels like someone put some thought into it and the overall fit/finish is tight and clean.Comes in a dark blue box (cool) with a 6 round and a 7 round extended baseplate mag. With the 6 round you have ZERO pinky on the gun, and I have medium size hands. However, it's not a big deal because the gun is so easy to grip otherwise. The undercut on the trigger guard is nice and high and the gun is thin enough for medium sized hands to wrap around and get a solid grip. The extended mag is definitely nice but the regular is just fine and if you're going for concealment it makes more sense to use the smaller mag.Paid $400 and they sold me a box of Hornady fancy pants bullets at a discount to go along with it. Overall feel like I settled on the right choice.Lastly, I recommend Academy. You can search the inventory online and then it will tell you which local store has it in stock. The interface is clean and easy to use but mostly I felt like Academy had the best prices on guns. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2HJ4V8r
