So a buddy of mine was recently involved in a self defense situation that required him to draw his gun. He is into automotive photography and was in a relatively busy, urban area taking pictures of his car around 5-6pm. He said that it was still light outside and that there were groups of people walking on the sidewalk a few hundred feet away. A teenager approached him wearing a hoodie and mask, asking for money. When my friend told him that he didn't have any cash the suspect lifted his shirt to reveal a revolver in his waistband. My friend cleverly said "Let me check my car" where he was able to retrieve his 9mm. Upon drawing the gun the teen looked like he had just shit his pants, probably not expecting a scrawny white boy to have a gun of his own. My friend told him to leave before he takes a bullet to the head. The teen practically fell over himself trying to run away thankfully ending the situation there. My buddy said that he was able to remain calm and composed until after, then he said it took over an hour his heart rate to return to normal.Just curious to hear you guys option on the situation and if you would have handled it any differently. It also got me thinking on the legality of using a self defense weapon in a situation were brandishing is involved like this one. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/ewFim0l
