Hi folks, I work in health care and have direct threats from patients in relation to “smashing me up” at times I do me best to deescalate the situation but am in a location with active gang activity and can feel unsafe. There are times I try to De escalate the situation but tonight a patient was nose to nose with me to Smash me up and feel at risk and the need to be able to defend myself. I have interests in home made weapons and self defence techniques and would love to hear your own thoughts or experiences when direct threats have been made to you and the actions you recommend.
