Why the Shield?

Sorry if this sounds like a rant, but I’m genuinely curious as to why the Shield seems to have such a cult following. I generally prefer compact-sized 9mm handguns for carry as a compromise of weight, shootability, and capacity, but the size isn’t what troubles me.Anecdotally, I’ve never had a pleasant experience shooting a Shield. Here’s my top two concerns:The two-piece trigger, unlike Glocks or other triggers with integrated safeties, allows one to pull the trigger without firing a round if one’s finger is too high. Yes, this can and commonly is rectified with training, but I could definitely see this being an issue during a high-stress CCW usage event. In my experience, the Shield is generally unpleasant to shoot. The trigger (aside from the above) is sloppy, and the gun kicks like a mule compared to others of similar size (particularly the G43 and P938). I’ve also had quite a few FTF, FTE, and double feed issues that I’ve never encountered with my HK or Beretta.I’d love to hear people’s input and personal experiences on this, especially since I commonly see people recommending the Shield (a rather unforgiving handgun IMO) to newbies here. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2YRhAu1
