CCW for dogs

I'm not hugely concerned about people in my community, but dogs are a problem I have encountered before. I have been charged and snarled at, but not bitten yet. Would a .380 Ruger LCP be sufficient to stop a dog? via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2MpGPkv
