Wondering if anyone has experience traveling to Illinois via car with their firearm. I’m in MN and have my permit to carry and will be traveling through Wisconsin to Rockford IL (just across WI border). While WI is permit friendly, IL obviously is not. Do I just leave it at home? Would prefer to bring it on the road trip with my family of course.I’m getting conflicting and possibly some dated info on their laws for non-residents carrying into the state and even the walk to the hotel from my vehicle being a huge deal.
