Protesters, your rights, and line of defense

Hey guys. Some of my friends and I were talking recently about protestors and I'm sure you've probably seen a lot of YouTube videos of protestors blocking traffic. I'm not looking for any legal advice, rather I'd like a conversation of multiple opinions on this topic.Assume you unintentionally end up in a situation where protestors have blocked the highway. You are in the front of the line with multiple cars in the lanes beside you and many piling up behind you. Your dash cam is running video and audio. Protesters are not showing any immediate threat to your safety but they are blocking you. You may have an emergency or you may just be driving home... You creep forward to gently push your way through and protestors (20+) come running up banging on your windows, jumping on your car, etc.Considering this scenario, some of the things on my mind and questions I'd like to discuss are:My first line of defense would clearly be to stay in my vehicle. At what point, if at all, do you draw? If you place your firearm in your lap with your hand on it but visible to protestors, is that defensive display of a firearm?Assuming things get worse and my safety is in imminent harm (20+ protestors swarming my vehicle and they've just busted out my window), I'd rather drive through the protestors than shoot but will do whatever is necessary at the time to protect myself. Am I thinking logically? Would you even let it get to this point? I'm sure each state would have it's own laws on this type of thing but as a general consensus, what do you think would happen? I totally see this as a major obstruction to my freedom and a great threat to my personal safety and therefore would absolutely not stay idle. Again, am I thinking logically?I look forward to an open conversation and hearing your thoughts. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2RB0CMr
