Read an article that made the assumption that carrying a less lethal weapon (pepper spray, baton, little pocket knife) could screw you over in court if you ever shoot someone in self defense. The argument being that "You could have used the pepper spray! You just wanted to kill them!"By only carrying a gun your argument is "The gun was all I had. I feared for my life. I had no other options."I considered this a lot before I got my license and now when I do carry I don't have any other weapon, not even a pocket knife.Thoughts?P.S. I'm a fit 20 something who practiced MMA for four years, so please hold off on the "get some empty handed skills you chili eating Dungeons and Dragons plebian.P.S.2. Imo pepper spray is unreliable. If any of you follow Police Activity you'll see that pepper spray and even tasers are often worthless against someone who is pissed, drunk or on drugs.Edits: Added some postscripts. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2yj7HIQ
