Tritium sights - are the models made in 2018 dimmer than the ones made in 1995-ish?

Around 1995, I saw tritium sights for the first time. They were on my friends duty weapon when he was with LAPD. I was shock with how bright they were. Even in a room with some light in it, the glowed like they were, well, nuclear. I was in amazement. So fast forward to 2018. I now carry and am looking for some upgraded sights for my Shield 9mm. However when I look at the tritium sights now, they seem very dim, even the ones fresh off the shelf. I have looked at about 6 different ones and they are all disappointing. Did they make them out of some stuff that was too-nuclear back then and now had to put less/less active radioactive elements in there? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2KiGoSJ
