-20yrs old, so can’t buy a handgun yet. Want a temporary replacement to carry when i’m out.
fyi: Never had a situation where I needed a firearm. So need someone who is speaking from experience.
reasoning:
- Many times, just pulling out what seems to look like a gun would deter a potential attacker.
- They have more range than pepper spray, they can get someone on the floor with a few shots, especially with a mix of kinetic and pepper bullets. Worst case: pepper spray as a backup.
- I can get used to “carrying” before I do and I can practice in my backyard.
Cons: It escalates a situation to life and death because they think you pulled out a gun. —I don’t see the issue with that, I’ll pull it out for self-defense using my best judgment
What are some good alternatives to a handgun if not byrna.
