Guy Shoots At Guy Who Broke Into His House (And Misses) Property Managers Gone Wild

What are you supposed to do if someone lifts their shirt to show you their gun in a threatening manner while you're carrying?

A neighbor told me he was at a convenience store and someone started yapping item cuz he wasn't moving fast enough in line when he turned around the guy lifted his shirt to show a handgun in his waistband. As a concealed carrier what would you do? The neighbor said he just backed away from the guy shaking his head and left without buying anything. His encounter got me thinking what I would do in his situation, I think you handled it well and got off safely what are you supposed to wait for someone who obviously has a gun and is now threatening you to draw and shoot you? He said the guy kept talking as he walked out of the store for what if the guy would have chased him into the parking lot maybe not aggressively but just follow them? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/305YNwp

My mom needs some help from you guys.

My mom just got her first gun recently (Glock 43x) and wants to find a holster for it. She doesn't know much of anything about guns and feels overwhelmed at all the holster options, but she wants to go take classes and get her CCW license so I'm trying to help her. The carry options I've been showing her have all been strong side (shes a bit bigger so appendix isn't an option for her) and purse carry since that's what she has said would be most comfortable for her. I wanna get as much information for her as I can, so do you guys have any recommendations for brands or styles of holsters for her that would be good for either strong side or purse carry? Any help would be very appreciated. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2MBL39O

Preemptive Use of Pepper Spray

Hello R/SelfDefense,

I am wondering on this sub's take of pepper spray when used preemptively. Would you consider it as a preemptive tool, more of just a situational one, or last ditch self defense? Included some examples below as food for thought for preemptive use discussion.

1) You look at a car when walking your dog. Car follows you with two people inside, both screaming at you. Car leaves for a moment then returns, people refuse to leave you alone.

2) You are walking alone at night, someone yells "Hey you" and heads straight towards you.

3) You are walking alone with your dog and two strangers ask if your dog bites as they look around.

My experience with the Vedder Light Tuck

Hello guys, I hope you are all doing well. I just wanted to go over my limited experience with the Vedder Light Tuck. I will preface this with the fact that I have yet to carry in public, because I cannot get comfortable with the Light Tuck.I got a light tuck for my CZ P-01, hoping that it would be comfortable enough for me to carry for the first time (appendix). The first problem I encountered was that I could not the gun to be properly retained in the holster. With the screw adjusted for proper gun retention, the screw was so loose that it would simply unscrew itself to the point that the gun would flop right out. In addition to this, the screw that adjusts the retention, also attached the claw, which, while the gun retention is correct, is completely useless and floppy due to the screw being so loose.Additionally, when wearing the holster with either my Vedder Cobra Belt or my hanks leather belt, it is very difficult to get my fingers between the belt and the handle of the gun. I tried every adjustment and was unable to get it any easier. It is possible that I am doing something wrong, but due to the above issued, I have yet to carry with that holster. Have you guys had any similar issues? Is there another holster that is more sturdy, without being any larger? Should I consider an out of waistband holster? Or are they too hard to conceal? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2NN3R6y

Do y'all carry a spare mag?

I'm about to start carrying (Ruger American .45 if anyone's interested) and I'm looking for a holster. I'm leaning towards not carrying a mag but I want to get some outside opinions. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3uFDhgf

Wisdom From 100 Workouts While Weaponed

I exercise just about every day. Always outside. Not into gyms, even pre-coof. I run 3-10 miles most days, which can include trails, hills, stairs, sprints, whatever. I mainly stick with bodyweight stuff like pushups, pullups, pistol squats, jump rope, plyometrics, heavybag/padwork, rollerblading, etc. Ok, maybe not rollerblading (not since the pothole incident). This is not to boast but to say that you can do pretty much anything comfortably while carrying. My workouts do not consist of bench pressing 225 for reps (I can do exactly zero), flexing for Insta, doing another set, gabbing about Rogan, doing another set. Not that there's anything wrong with that. If you're off the couch and moving your body, that's fantastic, and you have my respect. Only providing context here. This post condenses months of research and trial and error of carrying a gun while exercising. My hope is that it saves time for anyone out there power-walking the same path in life. This is by no means the only way to carry, but it's by far the best for my lifestyle, body type, and budget.Carrying goals: Comfortable and covert. My tool of choice is a Glock 43 with an extra mag. Oftentimes during runs I will stop at playgrounds to do some pullups and pushups if it's not too busy. Obviously the people who frequent playgrounds are children and mothers. Printing is just not an option and is of utmost importance to me. I can only imagine the call, 'Hello 911? Yes, there's a creepy sweaty old man with a gun challenging my four year old to a pullup contest on the monkey bars over here.' Nope, not happening. This gun simply does not exist unless it's being drawn to defend, which will statistically be never.Onto the goods. Evolution of carrying while exercising.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Version #1 - Kydex AIWB with regular drawstring gym/board shortsProsMinimalist, no need for new gym clothes or special equipmentPrinting: noneQuick draw timeConsSaggy gun syndrome, drawstring not hefty enough to hold up your holsterRequires special Ulticlip for holster to grab onto fabric. Regular holster clip slips off shorts during draw.No room for extra magVerdict: Not viable-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Version #2 - Kydex AIWB with EDC gun belt under regular drawstring gym/board shortsProsGun is secure and an extra mag can now be addedPrinting: minimalQuick draw timeConsBelt is directly on skin, which causes chaffing after miles of running. Or you have to wear an additional undershirt which increases sweating.Belt is not secure, rides up high, and shifts while doing anything related to squatting or jumpingVerdict: fine for fairy workouts but not viable for any significant physical movement-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Version #3 - Bellyband (now we're getting somewhere)I quickly learned that not all bellybands are created equal. In general, I wanted soft durable fabric (some use neoprene wetsuit material, others use scratchy itchy fabric), a retention system, trigger guard protection, and a price tag under $30. It is hard to find a band that checks all four boxes. I don't mind paying for a good holster, and I believe one should, but any fabric is bound to wear out and will need replacing. I don't have the funds to get a $75 bellyband every few months. Kydex is different. Pay for a good one once, and it'll never need replacing. After searching far and wide (i.e. online research, word of mouth, and/or physically trying almost every band on the market) I arrived at the ComforTac bellyband. This is the only brand that will be mentioned in this post, and the reason is that it is by far the best bellyband/deal in town. Just skip the rest. I have zero affiliation with the business or the brand or hold any stock if that's even a thing for this company. It's just a damn good product and can fit many different sized pistols. Super soft fabric that doesn't chafe and can take a beating, check. Optional retention strap, check. Solid trigger guard covering, check. Under $30, check (usually find one for $20). Bonus: extra pocket and removable velcro attachment for mag and unmentionables.Back to bellybands in general.ProsGun is secure with extra mag capabilityComfortable and generally stays put for prolonged, intense workoutsPrinting: a little more than previous attempts (extra layer of fabric wrapped around entire torso), but minimalMultiple carry positions: appendix and 6 o'clock were the most comfortable and least printy, closely followed by under the armpit, but armpit carry printed a bit much for meAccommodates all kinds of pistolsConsUnnatural. Moving around with a 5" piece of neoprene wrapped around your waist takes some getting used to, but not terrible overall.Increased sweating due to extra layer of fabric under shortsIncreased draw time due to the button-strap retention system, requires deliberate practiceCan ride up high during intense exercises, but mostly it's a non-factorVerdict: great option all around with a few noticeable drawbacks-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Version #4 - Kydex AIWB with EDC gun belt and stretchy surf/golf shorts with beltloopsSo far, this is the holy grail of carrying while exercising. Let's be honest, lugging around a 1.5 lb chunk of metal while doing anything is going to require some sacrifice. It's certainly not the case that carrying a gun makes working out more comfortable. But, I am proof that it can be done unobtrusively, safely, and with zero printing. It's a little odd at first working out in what looks like regular shorts with the two open-slanted front pockets, zipper fly, and beltloops. But the fabric is super thin, light, stretchy, and dries very quickly. I found two name brand pairs at Goodwill for $15 total.ProsGun is secure and extra mag on the belt no problemComfortable for prolonged, intense workoutsPrinting: noneSame draw time and stroke as EDCNo loss of range of motion from regular gym/board shortsPockets galore for IDs, keys, mace, Santiago, etc.You can go from running a marathon to the bar without looking out of place (I do not advocate drinking while armed)Bonus: option to covertly wrap a RATS tourniquet through the belt loops like a second belt without added hassleConsWearing a thick gun belt while exercising is not unnoticeableHave to buy new gym shortsIncreased sweating, requires extra base-layer shirt or else the holster rubs directly on skinVerdict: Winner-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Final thoughts.Phlster Enigma. Looks like a unique system and I have heard nothing but good things, but this one is not for me. One, over-priced (not expensive, there's a difference). Two, too complicated. Three, after all the research and testing I've personally done, my overall impression is that less is more. There is a lot of extra metal and a big plastic buckle in the front on top of the holster itself. I can't imagine that not rubbing the wrong way after a while. The leg loop also looks annoying. To be fair, I have never physically held or tried this holster, and these are just my opinions from afar. I reserve the right to be totally wrong about it.Off-body carry. Not much to say here. Show me a fanny pack without a million straps that doesn't bounce. Sounds perfect for a stroll to the coffeeshop but not a 5 mile trail run.Sweat. There's no way around it. You will sweat more than usual if carrying while exercising. The only viable options are a bellyband, which is a giant strip of thick fabric wrapped around your entire torso, or, a holster which requires an extra base-layer undershirt so the kydex doesn't rub directly on your skin. I've been brainstorming possibly adding a thin layer of neoprene to the holster itself using adhesive but have not prototyped anything. I feel that could be a potential workaround instead of wearing an extra shirt.Sweat leads to increased maintenance. If I'm sweating, the gun gets moisture on it. It typically appears only on the side facing in towards my body. It collects between the gap where the slide meets the polymer and also on the grip which sometimes leaks in through the mag release button onto the mag itself. I have found no solutions for this other than doing a quick wipe down after each workout. I also try and do a more thorough cleaning/lubing every week or so, even though I rarely shoot live since the shortage. I have no idea if this is either adequate or overkill. I'm erring on the side of better safe than sorry.Pullups with a gun in appendix position. This was a tough nut to crack and took a long time to figure out. As stated before, printing is just not an option for me. Unless I was wearing a nightgown (as I do from time to time, don't judge), the gun was visible during pullups. I tried layering multiple shirts, hiking up my shorts so high that my balls were dropping out the bottom, you name it. My holster is tuckable, but there is nothing holding the shirt fabric in the slot. Nothing was working and I was self-conscious enough that I was only doing pullups at night or when I knew no one was around. Not a long term solution. It happened by accident one day. As I was putting on my holster the bottom hem of my shirt got caught between the clip and the belt. Problem solved. Now I just wedge a small piece of shirt fabric up in between the holster clip and the belt. The clip is still secure to the belt. The shirt snags the clip and holds just enough so it doesn't expose your beltline when raising your arms for pullups, but it's loose enough that it breaks free when forcibly clearing the shirt for a draw. The quest is over? With the amount of testing I've done at this point, I really don't see improving much on Version #4. I would love to be proven wrong. If I have missed a product that exists in the market or am not aware of some game-changing lifehack, please fill me in. I will see to it that the gun gods shower you with ammo, center mass hits, and sub-second draws.Hope this helps. Stay sharp. Stay safe. Stay strapped.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------TLDRKydex on straight gym shorts: straight garbageKydex with EDC gun belt under gym shorts: walking the dog, yes ... Jazzercize, noBellyband: comfortable option for all types of workouts with some drawbacks (ComforTac or bust)Kydex with EDC gun belt on stretchy surf/golf shorts with belt loops: I like the stockBonus: tuck your shirt hem in between your holster clip and belt and 'Just Say No' to printing while pullup-ingQuestions for the communityHow bad is condensation for the gun and ammo? Weapon mounted lights

I’ve been meaning to ask about this for a while. When I took my CPL class, my instructor was a retired (not old, just retired) local sheriff’s deputy and trainer. He is certified to train with Glock as well. He mentioned that he does not like weapon mounted lights, because bad guys can just shoot at lights, since they know what’s behind them. He gave an example of a deputy that was shot in the wrist instead of in the chest, because he had a flashlight help up and away from his body. What are some thoughts on this? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3r5keJU

Keep trying appendix and I can't pull it off.

I have tried many different holsters. I carry everyday at the 4 position. I try appendix a couple days and just give up. I do not have a gut. But its impossible to sit down for me in that position. Any suggestions. I have a Glock 43x, Shield 9mm, and Sig 365 that I CCW. I have tried every holster outside of soft holsters. I do not use soft holsters. Reason for wanting to appendix is it seems a little easier to prevent customers from seeing. With my current carry I need a long shirt and sweatshirt for when I move around. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3uIE3ZN

Almost Had to Draw - Thoughts/Advice?

Hey guys,Last night I came incredibly close to drawing my weapon and it was a very uncomfortable situation. I went to eat at a restaurant with my brother, parents, aunt, and uncle. My brother brought his dog, so we ate outside as we have several times in the past.A guy started walking around the parking lot with a ton of energy, shouting that he wanted to fight somebody so he could stab them. Given the energy levels, aggravation, confusion on what was a person vs a column, etc, I'm pretty sure he was either on an amphetamine, pcp, or bath salts. Because he was likely high and didn't fully understand his surroundings, when he came close the best option seemed to be to not talk or make eye contact. Basically just pretend that I was the chair that I was sitting in.My aunt and uncle refused to move (they don't really believe anything bad could happen to them). My dad has developmental issues so my mom had to stay with him, and my brother had the dog so he couldn't go inside. So I stepped inside (so the guy couldn't hear me) and called the non-emergency hotline. I was on hold for about a minute, then talking with dispatch for about a minute. The whole time I was watching my family right outside and was right next to the door.I went back outside and sat back down where I was before in case there was an escalation. The guy shouted at a couple that they should come over to him so he could bash their heads into the ground and stomp on them. Then he started pacing a bit before turning towards our table. He didn't seem to register that there were people (us) there. He walked between us and the column we were sitting beside and faked a punch at the air between the column and the back of my brothers head. This is where I nearly drew. The guy walked off about 15 feet, picked up a bottle, and smashed it on the ground. Then he went across the parking lot and walked down the sidewalk until I couldn't see him anymore. About 2 minutes later (maybe 5 total minutes since I pressed the call button for the police), 3 cop cars rolled into the area and started driving through every parking lot in the area.During the whole thing-My aunt and uncle carried on conversation to make everything seem normalMy mom kept my dad from saying anything that might draw attention or provoke the guyMy brother kept his dog calm and helped me keep eyes on the guyI called the cops and stayed ready to drawDo you guys have any suggestions on things I could have done differently? I would have loved to get everybody inside but that wasn't an option between my aunt/uncle and my brothers dog.Takeaways for me:I need to practice drawing from sitting more. I have practiced from the car where I have room to elevate my hips during the draw, but when I was at the restaurant I would not have had that luxury.I was carrying my more comfortable holster which just holds the gun. While 15+1 9mm normally seems okay to me, I was definitely wishing I had an extra mag just in case. I've heard a lot of stories about guys on stimulants that don't go down even if they are hit with a decent number of shots. While an extra mag might not have made a difference, I would have loved to have it (either in my other holster or at least in a pocket).Normally I face the door when I'm inside. In this case I had my back to the parking lot because I was last to sit down. I'm not sure if this was good or bad. Between my brother and myself we had eyes on the guy the whole time, and I'd rather be between him and my family than have that guy pass right behind my mom for instance.I called non-emergency because he had trouble telling who were people and who was actually a lightpost. He hadn't actually hit anybody or stay in anybodys face for more than 2 seconds. He didn't seem to have any weapons. I think non-emergency was better, but I'm not sure on this.It took about 4 hours before I was finally able to calm down and decompress a bit. I'd love to hear your thoughts. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2ZYebep

An opinion on weapon mounted lights

A recent post had a bunch of people saying "You shouldn't use a weapon mounted light!!" I'm honestly really surprised by that. I figured that having a WML was common sense, but I guess that everything is up for debate these days. I figured I would give some reasons if why I think that WML are common sense:Most DGU happen at night. It's dark at night. You need to see things and positively identify a target. If you aren't positively identifying a target before you shoot, then you are risking shooting your cat, the neighbor kid, or your dumb ass nephew. So, having illumination is a good idea. You don't always have time to draw your pistol, and go fumbling around for a hand held flashlight. If I hear a bump in the night, I'd rather just grab my pistol and be ready to go instead of fumbling around on my nightstand to find my flashlight.A WML allows you to have both hands on the weapon instead of shooting one-handed. Even if you do the "tactical" grip and hold the flashlight in your index finger while holding the pistol, you still won't have ad good of a grip as if you just held the pistol with a normal two-handed grip. You don't "need to muzzle" everything just to illuminate it. Most WML are very bright and their spill can easily allow you to see things that are to the left and right of where you are actually aiming. You shouldn't have your finger on the trigger unless you're ready to shoot. So if you identify a no-shoot target, you simply aim down and to the left and you can definitely still see what you need. You should have BOTH a WML and a handheld. This isn't an either/or situation. If you are willing to carry a pistol, then you should be willing to carry a handheld flashlight as well. Companies these days make really awesome flashlights that are small and light so you really won't notice. I carry a streamlight microstream and I never notice it. I use it at least 3 times a week for random tasks.I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. If I'm in a life threatening situation, I want all the cards in my favor. If I have a WML on my pistol, I have the ability to use it, or not use it! This gives me more options which is always a good thing in a life and death situation. So in conclusion: a WML is a good thing. If your pistol is able to have one attached, you should have one. They make very small ones that dont add that much size or weight to your carry pistol. If you are in a situation and you don't need to use it, then you're fine. If you are in a situation where you did need it, then you will be glad you had it. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2O8dxbw

Anyone else get screwed over by Savoy Leather?

I ordered a holster and belt on June 8th 2020. They took my money then closed up shop. Website gone, Facebook page closed. They kept giving me the runaround about “the rona” and shortage of leather, but kept saying they were still making holsters as they got supplies and there was no refunds on “custom” orders via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3srTTWW

Weapon mounted light is a must

0241: My Blink cameras notified my wife of motion at the side door. Two males appeared to be trying to get the door open . I got my rifle with a mounted light, went down stairs and called the police. I put dispatch on speaker while I opened some blinds to see where the men where. At some point, my cameras recorded one of the men convincing the other to walk away and that they were only a few hundred feet from home. Now, I realized they were drunk. One of them started trying to pull the door open, at which point I lit the window with a rifle light, and yelled for them to leave. Message got through and the both of them left my property. 0336: finishing up this post. The police have still not gotten here. This is a major metropolitan police force that's pretty well known to respond slowly or not at all. Pretty scary to think that had I left the door unlocked, this man could have been upstairs before I even picked up my rifle. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2NPKWI6

Olight Baldr Mini good? and TLR-8 issues

Anyone rocking the Olight Baldr Mini?I just purchased Streamlight TLR-8's, and we had issues today w/ the bezel rotating to the lockout position under recoil on a Glock 19. I really like where the switch hits my finger, but if it's an unreliable design it's not an option.Meanwhile, the Olight is 1/2 the price, still has the green laser, has 100 more lumens, and has a rechargeable battery with low battery indicator so you'll never accidentally run out of juice. It looks to have similar switches, too.I have a IWB from JM Custom Kydex on order for the TLR-8, but they can easily change it to a Baldr Mini. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3uxR3Bs

Where do you carry and what’s in your pockets

Going to be getting my ccw and was just wondering what’s in everyone’s pockets and where. Right hand is my draw hand and dominant hand so that’s usually where I keep my phone. Wondering if this is a bad idea bc it’s more likely to flash my gun. Not that it’s a big deal but would like to minimize it as much as possible. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3uyhgjv

CCW Glock 17 on a shorter person

So to start out I'm 5' 7", 140 ish pounds so I'm a bit skinny. I bought a Glock 17 because it fit best with my hands. However I didn't realize that carrying a full size was such a task. What holster would you recommend for my height and build and I think getting one that can twist the gun to my body would help a lot. Most of my wardrobe is more form fitting things. But I do have some looser fitting options. I'm aware it will be difficult, but I appreciate any input. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2ZYHeP6

Holster recommendations for bigger guys

Relatively new to concealed carry, and in an effort to not purchase a dozen holsters I’m looking for recommendations. Currently running a Sig P365 SAS with a Vedder LightTuck and it hasn’t been the most pleasant experience, but I’m thinking that may be due to a sweat guard. I’d very much prefer to AIWB, but this lovely muffin top makes it pretty uncomfortable so I’ve been carrying at the 4. This has led to a change in wardrobe to prevent printing. I’ve been debating running the LLOD Associate V2 or Alien Gear ShapeShift 4.0 and would love any insight you guys may have!Edit: Im currently using a Vedder Poly Core gun belt, but am looking at the Blue Alpha Hybrid. What is it with CCW instructors trying to scare people, mainly women, into buying insurance?

I took my 2 CCW classes, first was OH second was SC after moving, both were straight forward. We went over current laws and what court cases set precedence for in regards to how you can defend yourself. They were both classes of about 15 people. My wife is in her class and texted me about USCCA liability insurance. Apparently its been mentioned multiple times. Most importantly "if we didn't have shooting liability insurance we could go to jail if we shot someone that broke into the house." Her class only has 3 people and they're all women. Why do ccw instructors use scare tactics especially when it could make someone hesitate to legally defend themselves? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3kyd5iT

Latest bad gun advice- "Carry something cheaper so you don't lose your nice guns to evidence"

I keep seeing this all over the internet and I'd really like to change this recent trend in logic. To begin with, I am not saying you need to spend thousands on a carry piece. What I am condoning is buying the highest quality you can afford in your budget while still getting adequate training regularly. You need to carry the BEST option. "Well OP, the BEST option is highly opinionated you idiot" yeah no kidding. The best option for YOU. This includes all kinds of factors like: QC, shootability, availibility, ergos, and especially budget (plus more). When it comes to defending my life and those of my loved ones, I want ALL of the cards in my deck. I want the best quality, most highly QC'd equipment that I perform the best with. Is that a Glock, Ruger, 1911/2011, S&W, hi-point, Beretta 92? That is going to depend entirely on your budget and preferences. There is no judgement here if you simply cannot afford anything more than a more "budget" minded option. What I am warning you against is this; do not go out and buy a Ruger LCP to carry just cause you'd hate to lose your G19 you commonly train with and keep at home. You're possibly sacrificing reliability, capacity, cartridge effectiveness, marksmanship, and weapons efficiency/familiarity (mag change etc) all over the absolutely tiny possibility you will be without your favorite piece for a few months following an extremely life changing event. In the end, all this logic may do is ensure your family gets your "cheap" gun back after you're already six feet under.Side note: Same goes for worrying about the finish of your pistol getting banged up. A worn slide or otherwise is a badge of honor to wear from hard work and training. Wear that shit. (pun highly intended) via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2P8UwWS

Do most regular joes only aim for the head in a fight?

I feel this is good information if true. Then you can just protect your head and know where they're gonna punch every time. They might be thinking the same with you to and you could aim somewhere else like the stomach or kick them in the leg. Just wondering if this is true.

Best click style belt?

I recently purchased 2 click type belts of an unspeakable brand, and I am in love. Now I am wondering what the best brand is in this category. Any thoughts on these? If they can be spoken of. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3uBt5VU

Any recommendations?

I own a Springfield XDe in 9mm I want something with more capacity than 9 rounds. What's everyone's experience and choices? I'm not interested in Glock I know they're very customizable. I like the 1911 but not much capacity there either. Thanks in advance. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2ZXoMWR

A daily carry with no expense spared.

If you could carry any setup, including accessories, what would you pick? Souped up Glock, Nighthawk Custom? Maybe a Staccato or a Wilson Combat? With money playing no factor, what is your dream rig giving you the absolute best in function, comfortability, looks or any other factors you value. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3suAcOa

Planning to CCW just have a few questions.

1) I'm planning on carrying First Defense 1.3% MK-6 stream OC aerosol, CZ 2075 rami BD, Vender Holster light tuck with claw, a Fenix PD25 Flash Light and a 5.11 1.5" TRAINER BELT. Do you think I am making any beginner mistakes with this selection?2) I found My OC spray fits very well on my belt and I can access it much faster when it's there. Is it a bad idea to open carry OC Spray?3) I decided to start dressing like I'm carrying before I actually get a CCW( shirt tucked in, tactical belt, ect). Do you think it would be a bad Idea to also carry a orenge training pistol in the holster just to get used to it before I get a CCW licence?4) What should I look into for a EDC First aid kit? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/37QjQaT

CCW help (IWB)

I’ve been struggling trying to find my first holster. I ordered a Tier 1 Axis Slim to see if I could do appendix carry...I’m not a fan. I then ordered a Tier 1 Echo which is more of a 3 or 4 o’clock IWB carry...and it’s incredibly uncomfortable. Not as bad as the AIWB holster, but not a lot better despite the quality of the holster itself.I have a Safariland holster which is comfortable to wear, but obviously isn’t meant for concealment...it sticks out way too far. I ordered a Blackpoint Tactical leather wing OWB holster in hopes that it will hug close enough to my body to make it reasonable to carry, but I guess my question here is does anyone have any tips on how to make the Echo IWB holster a little more tolerable? I mean even sitting down is uncomfortable and I find myself having to constantly adjust the thing just so it doesn’t stick my leg.Holster newbie just desperately trying to ride the line between comfort and conceal-ability...thanks for your help.https://ift.tt/2ZTV5WJ via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2Mu0yR7

Pistol recommendations.

So I have my Springfield XDS in .45 but I kinda want to get a 9mm to have more options. I know someone is gonna recommend a Glock and I fully acknowledge they are great dependable guns but I think they are ass ugly so I’d like to hear some other options. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3swWOxq

How to learn to defend myself and my loved ones without MMA classes?

For example, will strength training and some bag work help me?

Someone knocked me out and robbed me while I was walking my dog and she nearly got hit by a car, and my girlfriend came round the corner to see the full thing. Any time someone punches me nowadays I go unconscious instantly

I must be on r/ccw too much. Saw this on R/funny but was only thinking he should have cinched up his strap so the barrel didn't poke out.
