Getting CPL in another state

This might be a dumb question, but I just got out of the military and was stationed in North Carolina, moved back to Washington. I had my CPL in North Carolina and it doesn't expire until 2022. I asked a local sheriff if I had to get a Washington state one sense Washington honors North Carolina's CPL. He said "no, you should be fine" but something seems fishy. Washington is already pretty unfriendly to guns (atleast where I live) and don't want to get caught concealed carrying and get arrested because of a sheriff whom didn't know his laws. Thanks in Advance via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2MFUdll
