Almost drew my firearm today. Good lesson to use your car as a tool to get away and prevent escalation.

Was at an international market grabbing some special ramen with a friend today (for anyone familiar with NoVA, its the one near Mosaic district). We got back to the car after finishing, pulled out of my parking space, had to do it a bit slowly and sharply since there was a big work van parked behind us. Ended up in the left side since again the van took up space. As i finished pulling out and cut my wheel all the way right to go forward, these 2 young fuckheads pull in while speeding and are now face to face with my car. I dont have enough room to pull forward past him so i start waving at him to pull forward, to which he for some reason takes that as a sign of aggression and starts flipping me off and flashing me.I nod my head at him and just say fuck it and reverse a bit and pull past him, while he and his friend are still flipping me off and yelling in his car. Exiting out of the lot theres a light and cars backing up, so i cant really move past him. As im passing by him and stop to wait for the light, both people inside the car open the door and start to get out (passenger was a big guy). My friend doesnt know i carry and she’s not a person that likes guns at all so i usually wouldve drawn my gun and let it sit on my lap to keep it ready if they try and do some dumb shit so i held off on that and thankfully the light turned green so i could have pulled forward. Thought it ended there but for some reason he turned around and pulled next to me at the light, i looked at him and he just played it off as if nothing happened. Was carrying a Glock 19.5 w/TLR-7A appendixLessons of the day -dont keep your gun in your center console even if its a long drive, a chambered round means nothing if it takes you 2 hands and 4 seconds to grab your gun. Thankfully i stopped doing that long agono matter how safe of an area you are in, stupid people exist everywhereyour car is your greatest tool. Just drive away and let them be miserable by themselvespractice drawing in your carnever stay lackingedit: one more thing i wanna add that hopefully i can influence atleast one person - a TQ is essential wherever your gun is. I drive a 2017 VW Jetta , in the little door compartments there is a little hole at the end that perfectly fits a tourniquet. Doesnt move or fall out, stick one in there. I keep 1 on each side in the front doors, just a little tip for anyone that drives a VW via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/368Wdt6
