As we all know, Guns can be polarizing and can sometimes evoke a very emotional reaction. Here’s a life example of something else: my parents came over recently. They’re the boring, risk aversive but hard working Asian immigrant types. They avoid risky pleasures of all sorts of have led a pretty straight edge life. The most exciting thing I’ve ever seen them do in their life is.....get within 5 feet of a no crossing sign when we visited the Grand Canyon some years back. And I recall them being on edge about it when everyone else was relaxed. Everyone else got even close to it. I’m not even exaggerating at all. They’re very slow drivers, penny pinchers, and eat the same things every week.I’ve have a stressful time at work lately, so that day I got a 6 pack and drank a few. I drink more beers than I should, but I’m positive I’m no alcoholic whatsoever or anything close. I forget to clean them up when they arrive, and when they say 4 empty bottles laying around they lose it for a sec, bitching about how I’ll become an alcoholic, how you should only have 1 or 2 drinks on a special even cuz that’s how WE do it etc etc. And don’t even get me started on if they saw a bottle of vodka or hard liquor (which i RARELY drink these days)Basically, in my case-alcohol like Guns can be a polarizing thing depending on viewer and audience. Same with many other things. So basically even though YOU know the polarizing thing is not an issue, and not like in an addict denying his addiction kind of way, some people will see it as a problem because of their own worldview, and will attempt to police you in some way.Hell some extreme health parents may even flip a shit if they saw a liter of coke on their grown kid’s table, and may attempt to toss it in trash. Even if the grown kid shows no signs of obesity or sugar addiction.Back to guns: I think there’s some people who may be like ‘ohh the fact that you own a pistol is fine, but the fact that you have like 5 rifles that even your kids know how to shoot is a red flag. Why you have so much ammo!!??’I strongly dislike steppers, even well intentioned private steppers (MILs anyone??), but unless it was a government agent you just gotta keep your mouth closed and your pleasures hidden. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/35ZKsmR
