Wife wants to carry

My wife wants to start carrying. She loves my 4.25 M&P 2.0 but she isn't a fan of the shield because it's a lot of felt recoil in 9mm which is the caliber she likes so we are looking at either the 4-inch version or the 3.6-inch version for her. She is also only about 5-2 and 120 lbs. Does anyone have any advice on how a small woman can carry a G19 sized gun? How comfortable is it? Holsters? etc. I also know a lot of women carry options involve elastic bands instead of Kydex holsters. Is this a safety issue at all?
